"Appellate Court Awards Victory to Paul Reed Smith Guitars (PRS) Over Gibson

In a long-pending trademark dispute between PRS Guitars and Gibson Guitars Corp., the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit today reversed a lower court decision and ordered the dismissal of Gibson's suit against PRS. The decision also immediately vacates the injunction prohibiting the sale and production of PRS?s award winning Singlecut? Guitar. Paul Reed Smith Guitars announced today that it will immediately resume production of its Singlecut? guitars.

Eric Clapton (news)'s ready for some fresh Cream.

Old Slow Hand revealed to BBC Radio 2 last week that he and his former mates in rock's first supergroup, singer-bassist Jack Bruce (news) and drummer Ginger Baker (news), are planning to reunite for four shows next May at London's Royal Albert Hall, the legendary venue where the power trio played its final gig in 1968.

Mar 13 2004 - Gibson Wins Trademark Case Against Paul Reed Smith
March 13, 2004

Gibson Guitar Corp. in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee has won a trademark infringement case against manufacturer Paul Reed Smith. The claim involved Gibson's Les Paul single cutaway guitar with a body design which Paul Reed Smith used without permission or compensation to Gibson. This case declared that Paul Reed Smith infringed Gibson's valid trademark.

Cakewalk has released the 3.1 update for their SONAR 3 software-based production environment. The SONAR 3.1 update provides enhancements that include multi-processor optimization, support for all sample rates, high quality file import/export audio conversion utilizing Windowed Sinc resampler, adjustable EQ plot resolutions, missing plug-in protection, StudioMix control surface plug-in, and a revised Play List view. The update also addresses a number of minor bugs discovered after SONAR 3 began shipping.
